The is a speech by Cde. Jagadish Chandra (New Socialist Alternative – India) in London Socialist Party Meeting were he speaks on the effects of neo liberal reforms in India. While India definitely experienced exponential growth in the last one decade, 77% of its population still live on Rs. 20 a day. Jagadish also spoke about the neo liberal offensive in states such as Orissa where the mining and steel multinationals such as POSCO are attempting to grab the state’s rich natural resources at the expense of the communities that have lived of the forest and agriculture to sustain their livelihood for generations.

Video: LTTE to bounce back if defeated by Lankan army – Siritunga Jayasurya
The following video is is an interview with Siritunga Jayasuriya, the leader of Sri Lanka’s United Socialist Party (CWI-Sri Lanka), who was on a visit to India in February and March of this year to campaign against the war against the Tamils in Sri Lanka. According to Siri, LTTE will retaliate if the Sri Lankan army wins the military war against them. He asserted this in Chennai, by contending the military action against the LTTE is not the permanent solution unlike a dialogue between the Sri Lankan Government and the LTTE.
