New Socialist intervenes at 7th Vibgyor Film Festival

The 7th edition of the Vibgyor International Film Festival, held between 22nd- 26th February 2012 in Thrissur, Kerala, was a lively event with screening of films on important socio-political issues inter-spread with conferences ranging from issues like migration, nuclear energy and the ongoing struggle at Koodankulam (Tamil Nadu), and the question of climate change. Condemn the communal attack on Journalist Shahina Nafeesa

On Friday the 9th of December, Shahina Nafeesa a senior journalist presently working with OPEN magazine formerly with TEHELKA was attacked by the communal hooligans owing allegiance to to the Sangh Parivar, this incident occurred when Shahina was travelling back from Madikeri, where she was summoned by the local  magistrate in connection with the Madani’s case. read more
